Help AAB and HAD: Two Refugees with Disability in Urgent Need of Support

AAB (29) and HAD (37), both single men, are refugees from Iraq who arrived in Indonesia at the end of 2023. They are currently living with their two sisters and an aunt, facing unimaginable challenges. As persons with disabilities, AAB and HAD require constant care and specialized support, but their resources are limited, and their situation is growing increasingly dire.

AAB has been diagnosed with focal epilepsy and intellectual disability. Additionally, he is blind and paralyzed, unable to walk or perform basic daily activities without assistance. HAD suffers from quadriparesis, a condition that severely limits his mobility. Both of them need ongoing medical attention, specialized treatment, and access to essential supplies—needs that far exceed the capacity of their small family.

Living as refugees in Indonesia adds another layer of difficulty. Not only are they far from the healthcare systems they need, but they also lack the financial support to cover their basic daily needs. Without a network or a community that promotes inclusivity, they are facing this battle alone with their two sisters and aunt—three women who are trying their best but are in desperate need of help.

Their Immediate Needs:

  • Adult Diapers: AAB and HAD cannot use the toilet and require constant care. They need at least four packs of adult diapers each month, specifically Wecare size M. Other brands have caused AAB severe skin allergies, adding to his suffering.
  • Medication: AAB also relies on Levetiracetam 500 mg, a medication critical in controlling his epilepsy. Without it, the risk of seizures increases dramatically.

Your support will make a profound difference in their lives by allowing them to maintain their dignity and health in this challenging time.

Together, we can show AAB and HAD that they are not forgotten. Your kindness and generosity can help alleviate their suffering and give their family the support they desperately need.
