March 14th, 2025: Announcement for asylum seekers and refugees in Jakarta and Bogor
-
Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS) Indonesia sincerely apologizes and regrets to inform you that we are currently unable to accept new applications or provide additional financial assistance—including for those already on our request list—until December 2025. This decision is due to the lack of available funding for financial support during this period.
Please note that some individuals will continue to receive financial assistance from JRS. These are people who were already enrolled in our rolling assistance program, and their support will remain in place until the end of their designated period (ranging from 1 to 5 months).
Until December 2025, JRS will not be able to:
-
Open new applications for financial assistance
-
Conduct assessments for financial support
-
Make decisions regarding pending financial requests
In Jakarta and Bogor, JRS staff will continue to carry out activities in Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS), Education, and Advocacy. These programs are ongoing and already have funding allocated, but unfortunately, they cannot provide additional budget until December 2025.
We understand that this news may be disappointing. We deeply appreciate your patience and understanding during this challenging time. JRS remains committed to accompanying, serving, and advocating for the dignity of all refugees and asylum seekers.
