JRS Services for Asylum Seekers and Refugees in the Bogor Area
Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS) in the Bogor area provides essential support to asylum seekers and refugees through the following programs:
1. Financial Assistance
Given our limited resources, JRS Bogor offers a limited number of financial assistance packages to asylum seekers and refugees who are not receiving aid from other organizations. Priority is given to individuals and families with high levels of vulnerability.
2. Education and Training
JRS collaborates with Refugee-Led Organizations (RLOs) to provide education and training programs aimed at empowering asylum seekers and refugees. These initiatives help improve skills, knowledge, and self-reliance.
3. Psychosocial Support
In partnership with RLOs, JRS facilitates psychosocial support programs to address the emotional and mental well-being of refugees in the Bogor area.
4. Protection Services
JRS offers support for refugees facing protection issues, including cases of:
- Gender-based violence (GBV)
- Violence against children
- Other protection-related concerns
5. Information Sessions
JRS conducts information sessions to help refugees navigate life in Indonesia. Topics include:
- Accessing services provided by other organizations
- Utilizing public services such as healthcare, education, civil documentation, and telecommunications
- Exploring complementary pathways, including Talent Beyond Boundaries (TBB), private sponsorships, and scholarships
When needed, JRS also facilitates the sharing of information on specific issues such as:

March 14th, 2025: Announcement for asylum seekers and refugees in Jakarta and Bogor
- On the spirit of accountability JRS would like to share that since January 2025, JRS received a large number of requests for cash/financial assistance. Meanwhile, JRS has limited resources and allocation for those who already selected.
- Those who receive financial/cash assistance will have to be assessed. However we understand that not all who are assessed are selected, and it might creates frustration. We deeply apologize for this.
- With this situation, JRS will unfortunately have to heavily reduce our responses on receiving requests, screening, assessment, and response intake for cash/financial assistance due to our limited capacity starting from 14th of March 2025.
- We constantly try to broaden our advocacy and fundraising effort to be able to resume the cash based assistance.
- Further, we are still very open and happy to accompany and listen if you want to share your concerns with us in any urgent or emergency situation, although our capacity to respond with a responding request, screening, assessment and cash/financial assistance might be limited or not available.
- We do apologize for the inconvenience 🙏
- For any feedback on JRS service you can contact our listed phone numbers or approach our staff in Jakarta or Bogor.
